A new environmentally friendly delivery service has been launched across London.
Eco Van and Man, uses electric vans for local deliveries and clean burning Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) versions for longer trips.
By using electric vehicles and LPG in the most congested areas of London, the Eco Van and Man service has taken the lead in providing the cleanest possible alternative to conventional transport.
London’s air pollution is the highest in the United Kingdom and amongst the worst in Europe with road transport the single biggest source of particulates (PM10) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx).
According to Transport for London these materials are the primary cause of air quality related health problems.
Eco Van and Man’s spokesman and co-founder Jonathan Hood said, “These days everyone’s more aware of the environment, especially in a crowded city like London, and we wanted to offer customers a way of moving things around the capital that wouldn’t add to the pollution.
"It may only make a relatively small contribution at the moment, but we’re certain this is the way forward and that our customers will want to be a part of it.”
