A Taser stun-gun was reportedly found at the Claygate home of the family murdered in the French Alps last month.
Reports suggested the illegal weapon was found during extensive searches of the property in Oaken Lane, however a Surrey Police spokesman said they could not confirm this was the case.
It has also been reported that Saad Al-Hilli had recently changed the locks of his £1m home.
The murders of Iraqi-born Mr Al-Hilli, his wife Iqbal, her 74-year-old mother and French cyclist Sylvain Mollier, near Lake Annecy on September 5 remains a mystery.
More than 100 officers in Britain and France are working on the case of the four murders and Annecy’s chief prosecutor, Eric Maillaud said it was “a long task”.
Speaking to reporters outside Woking police station last month, Mr Maillaud said: “It is without any doubt that the reasons and causes have their origins in this country.”
French investigators say they are focusing on three lines of inquiry: Mr Al-Hilli's work, his family and links to his native Iraq.
Mr Maillaud said: “We’re investigating everything but it all takes a lot of time, trying to piece together the lives of all the people who have died, trying to perhaps understand a real motive, the real reasons for these killings.”
Inquiries are still ongoing.
