The battle against climate change was celebrated with a quiz, a film and a homemade cup cake on World Poverty Day.
A short film, ‘Sisters on the Planet’ was shown by members of Oxfam in Thames Ditton, Esher and Walton, ahead of a Big Climate Event in November.
The film, shown on October 19, tells the stories of four women from Brazil, the UK, Bangladesh and Uganda and how they are combating climate change.
Ligia Doxford, an anthropology graduate, said: “This first event was an opportunity for people who are interested, in forming an Oxfam campaign group, to come, get involved, and share some ideas.”
