Two young motorcycle riders have died after separate collisions in Tooting and Battersea.
Colin Bowes, 25, and another rider, 29, were coincidentally both driving blue and white Suzuki motorbikes when they were both in crashes with cars.
The 29-year-old, who has not yet been named by police, died about 8.30pm on Friday night after colliding with a silver and black Smart car in Tooting.
The driver of the car, a 26-year-old female, stopped at the scene in Southcroft Road but was not arrested.
The Saturday before, Mr Bowes crashed his bike into a parked blue Peugeot 306 in Stormont Road, Battersea just before 1.30pm.
Mr Bowes, known as “Doobz”, was a part-time plasterer and father of a new-born baby, according to a tribute on the website, gonetoosoon.co.uk Friends and relatives describe him as a “true gentleman” who loved riding and had a great sense of humour.
An inquest has opened into Mr Bowes’ death.
Police say a postmortem investigation is expected to help determine the cause of the unnamed rider’s death in the Tooting incident.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to either incident to call 020 8941 9011 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
