A family fun jewellers on Cobham High Street has reopened after briefly being closed for refurbishment.

Harper Ltd underwent its first major transition since opening in 1976.

Peter Harper told the Surrey Comet: “We are delighted to still be successfully trading despite some of the gloomy stories about the high street.

“The next generation of Harpers are now taking over, and the new shop reflects their ambitions for the future.”

For ten days the shop was closed as a new show room was fitted.

Some of the workers stayed from 7am until midnight to make sure the shop would reopen as soon as possible.

Mr Harper added: “The shop has been open for three days now and we have had some unbelievable responses.

“Even people that just walk past have smiled and given us a thumbs up. We are delighted.”

The jewellery shop is hosting a champagne and canapé reception on Friday (May 18) for loyal customers and friends.
