Kingston Hospital’s sexual health service is now completely paperless.
The Wolverton Centre went live in March with an electronic, paperless system called Inform, which is a specific system for sexual health, contraception and HIV care.
All consultations are now recorded electronically- prescriptions are generated and printed from within the system.
Test results are currently returned electronically and the next step is to be able to request directly.
In the future, the hospital plans to allow patients to book appointments online and to install self-registration kiosks.
Sarah Quinnen, service manager at the Wolverton Centre said: “With the installation of our new IT system, clinical staff have access to the complete patient record in one location, rather than in paper notes and partial IT systems.
“The staff have embraced the change and have worked together amazingly, supporting each other and sharing their learnings.”
