A person involved in a three-car crash in New Malden was "trapped by their injuires" before being rescued by London Fire Brigade. 

Firefighters and police were called to Kingston Road near the Fountain roundabout at about 2pm today (February 28).

Once removed from the vehicle, the trapped person was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.  

A spokesman for the Met Police said: "The female driver was taken to a west London hospital where she remains in a stable condition

"Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."

Although the road has reopened, buses 131 and X26 are still being diverted as the entrance to the bus stand remains blocked.
