Those who live, work and visit Elmbridge are invited to attend a free domestic abuse this November.

Hosted by Elmbridge Community and Safety Partnership, the event aims to highlight the impact on victims, as well as the services available in Surrey offering help.

It also aims to provide a forum for the community to come together and pledge to do all it can to stop it.

Councillor Mary Marshall, portfolio holder for community and corporate development said: “Reducing domestic abuse is a key priority for the Elmbridge Community and Safety Partnership as well as Surrey Police.

“Many victims of domestic abuse see the workplace as a safe haven that helps them to keep some sense of normality whilst dealing with such a difficult issue.

“However, some victims can still be targeted in their place of work and it’s well known that they may hide their reality from colleagues and employers as they can often feel ashamed or worried that they may be seen as a problem.”

To attend the event, which takes place at Elmbridge Borough Council’s office in Esher on Tuesday, November 28 from 12pm to 2pm, register here.

If you are unable to make the event, information on how to get help can be found on the Surrey Against Domestic Abuse website.
