A broken-down lorry is causing severe delays on the M25 clockwise between Junctions 8 and 11.
This mostly affects the road between Leatherhead and Chertsey, but there is congestion as far back as Reigate.
Police held traffic to recover the lorry to the hard shoulder to await recovery.
All lanes have since been reopened.
Highways England is advising motorists to allow ‘plenty of extra journey time’ on the route.
The estimated travel time is 60 to 70 minutes.
