Two people were arrested after an attempted bank robbery in Redhill.

Surrey Police attended the incident at a bank on Station Road, Redhill yesterday afternoon (June 5).

Officers were called to the bank at 3.45pm following reports that a man entered the building and made threats with a knife to a member of the public.

A customer suffered minor injuries to his hand. The suspect then left the bank and nothing was stolen.

Two men were arrested at the train station and taken into custody. A small knife has also been found.  

In a statement Surrey Police said: “Due to the incident there is an increased police presence in the area, this is nothing to be concerned about.
