Met Police have confirmed the man who died can be named as Kurt Cochran, although formal identification awaits.

Mr Cochran, 54, is from Utah, USA.

He was in London celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife when the terror attack happened on March 22.

They had also been visiting her parents. 

The family said they were "heartbroken", adding Mrs Cochran had been seriously injured.

In a statement released by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clint Payne said: "Kurt was a good man and a loving husband to our sister and daughter, Melissa.

"They were in Europe to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, and were scheduled to return to the United States on Thursday.

"Melissa also received serious injuries in the attack, and is being cared for in the hospital.

"We express our gratitude to the emergency and medical personnel who have cared for them and ask for your prayers on behalf of Melissa and our family.

"Kurt will be greatly missed, and we ask for privacy as our family mourns and as Melissa recovers from her injuries."

The US President Donald Trump tweet that he was a ‘great American’.

Family liason officers are looking after the family of a woman in her 40s who also died. They have asked she not be named.

Five people remain in a critical condition and two have life threatening injuries.

Detectives are searching a addresses linked to the investigation; one in Carmarthenshire, three in Birmingham, one in east London.

Searches at addresses in Brighton and south east London have concluded.

A woman, 38, was arrested at an address in east London on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts.

A woman, 21, and a man, 23, were arrested at an address in Birmingham.

A woman, 26, and three men, 28, 27 and 26, were arrested at a separate address in Birmingham and all six were arrested on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts.

A man, 58, was also arrested this morning at a separate address in Birmingham on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts.

The investigation continues and involves hundreds of detectives.
