The storm that left at least three people dead in the US is set to hit the capital this weekend.

The northeast of America is covered in snow after been blasted by fatal Storm Stella so what’s in store for the capital?

Well, we don’t need to worry too much as the Met Office has said the impact of the storm will be extremely reduced after crossing the Atlantic.

Meteorologist Alex Deakin from the Met Office said: "We are going to see spells of wet and windy weather, fairly typical for March."

The good news is we still have Thursday and Friday left to enjoy, with dry, bright conditions and lots of sunny spells. There is a small chance of a little light rain on Thursday afternoon but it will swiftly pass. The maximum temperature will be 14 degrees plunging to 3 degrees overnight.

Friday is more of the same, though cloud will thicken through the afternoon with the chance of rain at times. The top temperature will be 12 degrees.

Although the capital will experience strong winds over the weekend, with some outbreaks of rain, they will be infrequent. Rain showers are expected to continue until Monday.
