Drivers experienced "horrendous" traffic around Hampton Court this morning due to temporary traffic lights for emergency repairs to a burst water main.
The repairs are on A8308 Upper Sunbury Road in Hampton at the Lower Sunbury Road Junction.
The traffic has eased up but will likely grind to another halt during rush hour.
If people need to get into Kingston Facebook users are urging people to either walk in if they can or to go through Thames Ditton or Walton on Thames.
Some bus routes are experiencing delays:
route 458, 461, 513, 514 and 515 is currently suffering delays of 15 - 45 minutes due to traffic in Hampton court/ Kingston area's.
