The A24 London Road in Worcester park has re-opened after a fallen tree in Worcester Park blocked the road between Ewell and North Cheam this morning.

Transport for London (TfL) confirmed the road's re-opening after "emergency tree works" were carried out.

The tree had covered both lanes of the road between Tudor Avenue and Oaks Avenue.

Eyewitness Barbara Johnston described the tree as "enormous".

She added: "They said no one was under it. That is a very busy road."

The 293 bus service between Morden station and Epsom General Hospital had been held up near the Oaks Avenue bus stop.
