The editor of a technology news website has said he is "humbled" to have been awarded a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen's birthday honours list.
Mike Butcher, who lives in Kingston, is the editor-at-large at TechCrunch and was honoured for his services to technology and journalism.
He said: "I am honoured and very humbled to have been awarded an MBE for services to technology and journalism."
Mr Butcher is a co-founder of the Tech Hub project, which helps start-up businesses find office space and is a regular commentator on technology issues.
In October 2009 Mr Butcher was named one of the Top 50 most influential Britons in technology by The Daily Telegraph.
