Today is the last day to register as a voter if you want to take part in the EU referendum on Thursday, June 23.

Joining the electoral register, or updating your details online, takes around five minutes, and may require your national insurance number, or your poassport if you are a British citizen living abroad.

If you were registered to vote in the May 2016 elections or the 2015 general election and you still live at the same address, you will not need to register again. If you have moved house since you last voted, you will need to update your details on the register.

The deadline to join the register in time to vote in the EU referendum is 11.59pm this evening. Click here to register to vote.

The deadline to apply to vote by post is 5pm tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8. You will need to download and fill in a form, and then send it to your local electoral registration office. Click here to apply for a postal vote

If you would like to vote by proxy, and nominate somebody else to cast your vote for you, you will need to apply by 5pm on Wednesday, June 15. You will need to download and fill in a form, and sent it to your local electoral registration office. Click here to apply to vote by proxy.
