The Mayor of London has pledged a one-hour hopper bus ticket will be in place by September, marking a speedy delivery of a key campaign pledge.
Sadiq Khan, who was MP for Tooting until Monday, said in his election manifesto he would implement a system to allow those using two buses in one hour to pay just one fare.
I’m introducing a one hour ‘Hopper’ bus fare from September. I’m committed to making travel more affordable for all Londoners

On Tuesday, he announced the bus ticket would be in place by September.
It was the first major policy announcement of the new Mayor's term.
Mr Khan said: "The cost of a fare in London has risen for eight years in a row and now that I am Mayor I am determined to prevent the cost of travel from becoming a barrier to work.
"The ‘hopper’ fare will make life cheaper and easier for millions of Londoners, and will help ensure that everyone will be able to afford to travel around the city.
"It is just the start of my plan to ensure that travelling around London is affordable for everyone, a commitment that includes a freeze on TfL fares for four years – benefiting millions of people."
Throughout the election, Mr Khan's pledge to freeze fares was criticised, with some claiming it could cost TfL £1.9bn.
