There could be snow in south London and Surrey tonight and tomorrow as freezing temperatures arrive to banish memories of a warmer-than-usual Christmas.
The Met Office is predicting possible wintry flurries before dawn as the mercury drops to 1 degree celcius, with a further chance of morning snow.
Whether or not south London gets a dusting of the white stuff, strong northwesterly winds and rain will be sure to make things chilly.
Today is expected to be mostly sunny and dry, before grey clouds, rain - and possibly snow - roll in tonight to stick around for the rest of the week.
With a predicted high of 6 degrees celcius, today should also mark the warmest day of the week, although things will get down to as low as 3 degrees.
There are currently no weather warnings in place for London and the south east, according the Met Office.
