Festivals for many usually go hand-in-hand with food and standing around, but you’re guaranteed to be active at a family event coming to Surrey at the end of August.

The Fitness Festival comes to Priest Hill in Ewell for the Bank Holiday on August 29.

As well as perennial festival faves such as music, food, drink and stalls selling all kinds of stuff, there’ll be bags of fun fitness activities to try.

Three colourful fun runs will take place throughout the day over 5km and 10km courses (and a shorter 2.4km for six to 15-year-olds).

Runners’ minds will be taken off the distance by organisers and spectators spraying them in coloured paint and water on the way round.

Challenges will find the strongest and fittest men and women at the festival with £500 of fitness goodies for each of the four winners.

There’ll also be chances to watch and try things as diverse as Parkour, Bokwa, high intensity classes and games and competitions.

Adults and kids can both enjoy Gladiators and Wipeout-style games, an inflatable obstacle course, rock climbing and beach volleyball.

Event organiser and founder of The Fitness Festival, Cara Hernon said: “We are really excited to be bringing The Fitness Festival to Surrey this summer. With all of the entertainment on offer, there will be plenty of fun for the whole family to enjoy.

“The Fitness Festival is first and foremost about making fitness fun, with the hope that this will encourage lots of people to try something new and discover the benefits of healthy living and exercise.

The Fitness Festival is from 10am to 6pm on August 29 at Priest Hill, Ewell. Entry costs from £5 for adults and from £3 children. Go to billetto.co.uk
