A photography exhibition has chronicled the past century in Worcester Park.

More than 500 people turned up to the free exhibition at the British Legion, Central Road, on Saturday to view hundreds of photographs of the suburb through the ages.

Local historian Brendan Austin, 62, said the project he had worked on with friends David Rymill and Richard Johnston had taken two years to complete.

He said: “It was quite emotional to see all the effort put in turn out so well.

“The way some of the pictures were displayed looked like they had come out of a crime drama, but I think everyone enjoyed it.

"My work will never be finished because you find something new out about Worcester Park all the time.”
