Councillor David Fraser picked up his MBE from Buckingham Palace
One of Kingston’s longest serving councillors went to Buckingham Palace to pick up his MBE last week.
Councillor David Fraser, 85, was presented with the accolade by the Queen on Wednesday, February 13.
He was given the honour for his work in the now defunct Horton Hospital before transferring to Surrey County Council’s West Park Hospital team.
Coun Fraser who attended the ceremony with his wife and two daughters, said: “It was a lovely experience.
“When the Queen spoke to me she said ‘You must do very interesting work’. She was nice but she must get fed up.
“We were there for two and a half hours.”
