Street to reopen this afternoon five days after sewer collapse
Eden Street will reopen today after being closed for five days following the collapse of a sewer.
Emergency engineering works were carried out, while the Kingston street remained cordoned off between Lady Booth Road and the Nationwide Building Society.
Busses were diverted to Wheatfield Way while the engineering work was taking place.
A Thames Water spokesman said: “Due to the location of the pipe, we needed to close the road so that we could dig down and repair the collapse.
"Repairs were finished yesterday and we completed our work by reinstating the road surface this morning.
"We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by this work."
