Police name teenager found dead in River Thames Police name teenager found dead in River Thames

Police have named a young man whose body was found in the River Thames over the weekend.

Teenager Jamie Smith from Surbiton was found after divers began a search following reports of a person in the river near Kingston at 7.20am on Saturday, January 19.

Officers including the Marine Policing Unit and Teddington RNLI attended the search by Barge Walk, Hampton Wick where the body of the 19-year-old was seen.

The death is not being treated as suspicious but the cause of death is not yet known.
