Olympic memorabilia up for grabs
Memorabilia from this summer’s Olympic cycle races is up for grabs.
Surrey County Council (SCC) is giving people the chance to win hundreds of games flags, banners and bunting used to line the roads for the London 2012 road races and time trial events in the county, which saw BBC Sports Personality of the Year Bradley Wiggins and Lizzie Armitstead power to victory.
To be in line to claim a memento, write up to 100 words explaining why you should get a souvenir and provide contact details by visiting www.surveymonkey.com/s/OlympicBallot.
Helyn Clack, SCC’s cabinet member who had responsibility for the Olympics, will judge the requests.
She said: "We made Surrey an Olympic arena for three amazing days of sport and now people have the chance to own their own piece of games history."
The closing date for applications is January 11.
