Woman injured in A3 crash
A woman has been hospitalised following a crash on the A3 this morning (Tuesday).
Two cars collided shortly after 8am on the southbound carriageway of the A3 Kingston By-Pass, between New Malden and Tolworth.
Paramedics were called just after 9am.
A woman in her 30s was taken to Kingston Hospital, but an ambulance spokeswoman said the extent of her injuries was unknown.
The crash caused long tailbacks, with some drivers reporting hour long travel times from Worcester Park to New Malden.
The road has now been cleared and traffic has returned to normal.

I do not believe the removal of the Gatso speed camera on the Northbound A3 by Elmbridge Avenue has led to any increase in accidents.
From what I see in person driving on the A3 and from news articles on here, a majority of accidents / bumps / injuries in the New Malden / Tolworth areas occur on the Southbound carriageway.
There is constant 'bunching' of traffic as you go down the hill from Malden Junction and normally for no reason other than motorists who insist on doing 35mph past the camera on the southbound road.
Speed cameras can be more trouble than they are worth in my opinion.
