A clubber was stabbed five times inside Oceana with a knife his attacker had stashed in his waistband, a court heard.

Hoopang Wong, 25, and Darren Henry, 24, deny causing grievous bodily harm.

Their trial began at Kingston Crown Court yesterday.

The court heard Karlos Frederick, who was on a night out with his friends at the club on May 20 this year, went up to the smoking area where he saw the defendants arguing.

Prosecutor in the case, Mark Stern, told the court Mr Henry approached Mr Frederick first and then Mr Wong pulled out a knife, came at him, then repeatedly stabbed him.

He said: "It is said that Hoopong Wong repeatedly stabbed Karlos. All the while Darren Henry was in his face.

"In this case although it was Mr Wong that did the stabbing both defendants were plainly in it together as part of a joint enterprise."

Staff at the Clarence Street venue found Mr Frederick lying on his back, bleeding, at the top of the stairs after the attack

He suffered three stab wounds to his right thigh, one to his left thigh and another in his armpit.

The court heard the victim had surgery and stitches above his left eyebrow and has ongoing issues with feeling and movement in his legs.

Mr Stern told the court both the defendants were stopped as they attempted to leave the club and were arrested that night.

DNA from the victim was found on both defendants and the lock knife was found tucked into Mr Wong’s waistband.

Mr Wong admitted having the knife.

Mr Wong, of Byron Way, Middlesex, and Mr Henry, of Barmouth Avenue, Middlesex, deny a joint charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The trial continues.
