Tooting man Charles "Charlie" Looker was 80 years old when he died at Trinity Hospice on December 22 last year after losing a battle against bladder cancer.
A Wandsworthian all his life, Charlie was born in Wardley Street, Earlsfield, in a home that was demolished about four decades ago.
He then went on to spend his whole life in and around Garratt Lane where he was well known and well liked - a man whose name everyone in the community knew.
For more than 20 years, Charlie was also a dustman working for Wandsworth Council.
His granddaughter Angelena described him as a "well-respected man who loved to socialise, go walking and have a nice lunch".
Charlie was carried by horse and carriage to his final resting place at Wandsworth cemetery in Magdalen Road on Friday, January 18.
He leaves behind seven children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and his twin brother Johnny, who will all greatly miss him.
