A dog beater has been caught on CCTV kicking and stamping on a German shepherd dog as he walked it in the park.

Unemployed Jordan Kearsley, 18, who lives with his mother in Sutton, was caught beating the elderly female dog called Blaze in May this year.

The event occurred in Gordon Parade in Gravesend where he used to live.

The footage showed Kearsley repeatedly kicking and stamping on Blaze and dragging her to the ground. He also has a Doberman on a lead, but this dog is not harmed.

Footage also shows Kearsley being arrested and the dogs being taken away from him. The RSPCA said Blaze, thankfully, was not badly injured.

He has now been banned for life from keeping animals, after a prosecution brought by the RSPCA.

Dartford Magistrates heard that Kearsley’s father was shown the footage of his son kicking his dog and said that the son would never have any contact with the dogs again.

The dogs have been returned to his father and Kearley has moved to Sutton with his mother.

Kearsley pleaded guilty on September 17 and was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail, suspended for 18 months

He was also given a curfew between 8.30om to 6am for 12 weeks, ordered to attend a senior attendance centre and pay £750 costs.

RSPCA inspector Vikki Dawe said: "This video footage was heartbreaking to see. This poor elderly dog was being kicked and stamped on. The violence was horrific."

His brother Jonathan Kearseley, 23, said the attack was inexcusable, but took place because Kearsley suffers from ADHD and is bi-polar, and had not been taking his medication.

He said the incident followed an argument with his dad, with whom he had a troubled relationship, and he had been horrified and remorseful after seeing the footage of his actions.
