Terminally ill patients at St Helier and Epsom hospitals have received a £50,000 donation.
A total of 50 syringe drivers were donated to the hospitals which will be used to administer painkillers or medication to patients.
If a patient wishes they can be transferred home to be with family with a syringe driver, and be cared for in their own home.
Thanks to the donation from the St Helier and Sutton League of Friends and the Friends of Epsom and West Park, both hospitals can offer the latest syringe drivers to those who need them, with 28 for St Helier patients and 22 at Epsom Hospital.
The hospitals' chief executive Matthew Hopkins said: “Our League of Friends consistently show a true commitment to our patients, and this latest donation is just one small part of that.
“I would like to thank the charities, and each and every one of their volunteers for their tireless hard work. They truly are a credit to our hospitals.”
