A woman who refused to take life easy after she retired has become the borough's latest centenarian.
Kathleen Casling celebrated her landmark day with friends, family and staff at the Grange Cottage residential home in Sutton last week.
Mrs Casling, who has been a resident at the home since 2008, continued to volunteer after her retirement.
Following her retirement from Pickfords, where she has worked for most of her life, Mrs Casling became actively involved in her hobbies.
For many years she worked with the Friends of Wimbledon Theatre whilst helping out at the Princess Alice Hospice Shop.
Halkoree Vijayantin from the Grange Cottage care home said: "Kathleen is a very pleasant and jovial lady, with good sense of humour and who is cheerful at all times. She has a good family network support."
Mrs Casling regular gets visits from former neighbours and relatives from as far afield as Australia.
