I would invite the leader of the Council to come along and tear up £3 million pounds worth of Monopoly money to show how they waste our money, and treat it as just that, Monopoly money, with no thought or accountability on how OUR money is spent. This whole project has been one absolute waste of money, over a month behind schedule (conveniently the Council has moved the completion date several times) no penalty clause against the contractor for being behind schedule - thousands spend on Consultants.Allegedl
y the job given to one company for £3 million who subbed it out to Skanska for far less - a nice profit for someone at our expense if true.

I have heard reported that Sutton Council is now so hard up for money that the most severely disabled who use the occupational therapy equipment service are now being told that they must now buy their own replacement seat covers for their bath lift equipment at £30 a go.Perhaps these residents will be among the first to volunteer to learn routines for the Dance of Cycling show and Nukhut Bollywood dance which will be Don't forget you voted them in: LibDem spendthrifts are now grinning here.

I couldn't have said it better Liberalsout and Michaelpantlin. The lack of priorities is astonishing with this council. If a private citizen spent money in a crazy way like this we'd have to own up to it and be punished. If a government does it, it's ok. Funny how those who are born into bigmoney (as nearly all politicians are) and never grow up seeing parents having to budget for basics like food and shelter then tell us how to do those very things....and have the gaul to then tell us their overspending is our fault and we all have to pay it back via higher taxes. The way the general government and local government treats us is disgusting.

You have to ask what all this will cost on top of the £3m+ spent already.

I'd like to have seen the area called **** Square. In honour of the hotel that used to be situated there.

And of course after the twit that agreed the ridiculous budget on yet another white elephant.
