Plumber fined for dumping waste outside Carshalton charity HQ

A selfish plumber who dumped waste from a bathroom renovation outside a disability charity in Carshalton has been fined nearly £300.

Daniel Anderson, of Beckenham, Kent, pleade guilty at Sutton Magistrates Court on March 3 and will pay £265 in fines.

Anderson, a plumber, renewed the bathroom at a private property in Coulsdon, Croydon, but allegedly passed it on to a ‘rogue’ salesman who dumped it outside the Diamond Riding Centre, in Woodmansterne Road, on April 6 last year.

The toilet, water tank, building debris and other rubble were found dumped outside the centre - a charity for adults and children with disabilities.

An investigation, led by Sutton Council enforcement officers, traced the waste back to Anderson.

Councillor Colin Hall, Sutton Council’s environment spokesman, said: “We take a dim view of anyone responsible for blighting our borough with fly-tipped rubbish.

“The perpetrator in this case clearly had no regard for the visitors to the riding centre and I congratulate the enforcement team for bringing the matter to justice.

“It is important that anyone allowing others to take charge of waste has a signed record and uses only a reputable licences carrier.”
