Snow will bring travel disruption, Met Office warns Snow will bring travel disruption, Met Office warns

Travellers have been warned to expect disruption as London experiences its first snowfall of winter.

The Met Office issued the warning yesterday. Sleet and snow are expected across the capital throughout today, with temperatures between 1 and 4 degrees Celsius.

The Met Office said: “Outbreaks of rain will turn readily to snow during the early hours of Friday across parts of Wales and the Midlands, then increasingly into central Southern England by dawn. The snow is likely to accumulate over time, particularly, but not exclusively over higher ground.”

Widespread frosts and below-freezing temperatures have been predicted this weekend, but conditions are expected to ease by Monday.

It was snowing when I left the house, then it turned to sleet, now we have giant flakes! Don't know if I want it to settle or not - I'd quite like to get home tonight!

I've been braced all week waiting for the forecast storm: braces feeling uncomfortable now.

My husband drove as far as Warlingham and then came back home. Boss told him to work at home.

Warlingham is well off the edge of my map so glad I don't have to go there. I spotted some snow flakes yesterday and "braced myself" as I did for the storm winds. Hope they tell us when they sound the "all clear".

Now all the forecasts are saying cloudy, cold and a bit of rain! Great... Black ice across London then!
