Weathermen are predicting more snow tonight but residents should relax as Sutton Council now has 260 tonnes of grit in preparation.

But a spokesman for the council confirmed that gritters would be out in force, ensuring that priority routes have been salted She said: “We will focus on the usual priorities including schools, high streets, old people’s homes and hospitals.”
Following snowfall parents are advised to check directly with their children’s schools for information on possible closures or to check the council’s website.
Commuters can check our website in the morning forup-to-date reports.
