New Malden roadworks cause rush hour headaches

Roadworks in New Malden are causing headaches for commuters heading towards the A3 turnoff at Malden roundabout.

Motorists can expect considerable delays this evening and for the next week, due to a width restriction on the northbound sliproad round to Coombe Lane West.

The disruption is causing tailbacks in all directions from the roundabout and traffic is particularly bad on the approach from Worcester Park.

Today, Transport for London issued a warning to expect delays during rush hour and that the roadworks, which started on July 20, would last until August 2.
