A double-decker bus hit the Coombe Road railway bridge shortly after midnight Sunday.

A South West Trains spokeswoman said the bus hit the bridge about 12.30am.

The line near Norbiton station was closed while investigators inspected the bridge but it was undamaged and the track reopened soon afterwards.

Two trains were halted by the bridge inspection, the spokeswoman said, but normal service was resumed early in the morning.

There were no injuries.
