Kingston Foodbank is urgently appealing for food items to be donated to help those in need.

The main store has run out of tinned fruit, instant coffee, tinned vegetables, fruit juice and squash, instant mashed potato and instant/pot noodles, and these are top of the list of wanted items.

Also in demand are meat, fish, pasta sauce, rice pudding and long-life milk.

A list on the website of items they have plenty of includes pasta, rice, baked beans, soup, tinned tomatoes, tea bags and cereal.

More than 90 per cent of food distributed by the Trussell Trust, who run the Kingston facility, is donated by the public.

You can donate food at the following places:

  • Waitrose, Wood Street, Kingston
  • Waitrose, Stone Place, Worcester Park
  • Waitrose, High Street, New Malden
  • Waitrose, Claremont Road, Surbiton
  • Sainsbury’s, Hook Parade, Chessington
  • Big Yellow Self Storage, 225 Hook Rise South, Tolworth
