Police have warned drug dealers against coming into Surrey after three more people have been jailed as part of a crackdown on drug dealers.

Since Surrey Police launched Operation Viking last autumn, a total of more than 40 years of prison sentences have been handed out.

The latest trio to be jailed had all travelled into the county from across London and were stopped in Epsom and Merstham on three separate occasions.

Kimberley Young, 25, was jailed for two years and six months for carrying drugs into Surrey from London.

Rakhib Mahamoud, 18, and Anton Prendergast, 23, who were both stopped for driving matters but then found to have class A drugs, have been jailed for two years and six months and three years in jail respectively.

Detective Chief Inspector, Mark Preston, said: “What this shows is that even if you’re just the driver for a drug dealer you will face the prospect of time in prison if you’re going to come to Surrey to commit crime.

“If you’re involved in drug dealing at any level, Operation Viking will come after you and make sure you don’t pose any risk to our communities.

“Operation Viking has proved a great success and we will carry on our pursuit to disrupt networks of drug dealers.”

Young (pictured above), of Surbiton Crescent, Kingston, was stopped in Rushett Lane, Malden Rushett, on April 14, along with Malachi Ritchie.

When officers searched their car, Ritchie was visibly shaking and acting nervously. They found a number of wraps of drugs, including some hidden inside a fake deodorant can.

Ritchie, 19, of Gonville Road, Thornton Heath, and Young both pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin, while Young also pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis.

They were sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on Friday, June 23. Ritchie spared jail as his sentence was deferred for six months.

Officers stopped Mahamoud (pictured above), of Strone Road, Forest Gate, in Hook Road, Epsom, because his car was not displaying any L plates despite the fact he was a provisional licence holder, Surrey Police stated.

Inside the car, officers found a number of cling film wraps, cash, and a mobile phone which, after examination, was found to have a number of messages relating to drug dealing.

The 18-year-old later pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply, and driving without a licence or insurance.

He was sentenced to two years and six months in prison at Guildford Crown Court Friday, June 23.

Prendergast (pictured above), from Primrose Close, Lewisham, was stopped on the A23 London Road in Merstham on April 28, because he had a faulty brake light and was driving slowly. He also initially failed to stop, Surrey Police stated.

Officers searching his car noticed a strong smell of cannabis and found a large quantity of cash inside, along with a handwritten list with names and phone numbers, and a lock knife under the driver’s seat.

The 23-year-old had 45 individual wraps of cocaine and heroin inside a larger wrap stashed in his underwear.

He was jailed for three years after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs, as well as driving without a licence or insurance.
