The Earl of Wessex will come to a performance at Kingston’s International Youth Art Festival.

In his role as President of Creative Youth, the charity that delivers the festival, he will attend the gala performance of Sea Stories at the Rose Theatre on July 13.

He will meet performers, team members and special guests, including the winner of the Sea Stories design competition.

The show is a musical theatre triple bill, directed by Jeremy James Taylor.

Pieces include The Upside Down Sailor, a musical by Roxanna Panufnik and Sir Richard Stilgoe; The Golden Vanity, a short opera for boys’ voices by Benjamin Britten; and Sinbad the Sailor, a jazz oratorio by David Nield and Mr Taylor.

Also performing will be actor Angellica Bell and Robert Pugh, who played Craster in Game of Thrones, will provide narration.
