A machete and butcher knives were just some of the lethal blades handed into Kingston police station.
In total 147 weapons were handed in to a bin at Kingston police station as part of a knife surrender campaign run by the Metropolitan Police this week.
Kingston police posted a picture of the knives this morning on Twitter with the hashtag #OffTheStreet.
So yesterday we emptied our knife bin in the front office at the police station. This is what we found - 147 weapons #OffTheStreet pic.twitter.com/AbGeL4mA5C

A Kingston police spokesman said: "They are all bagged up now in protective cases, however I would say that the machete pictured was the largest at around 18 inches.
"The knifes are removed from the bin and placed into secure containers and are sent for destruction."
Last year, a police and crime report found that knife crime in London had reached a four year high.
