Tonight councillors will vote on plans that would transform the face of Kingston town centre - British Land and USS' vision for the demolition and rebirth of the Eden Walk shopping centre.

Kingston Council's development control committee will decide whether to approve or block the plans for hundreds of homes, shops, a cinema and offices tonight from 7.30pm at Guildhall.

At a pre-decision meeting last week the developers cited reduced footfall as proof their scheme was necessary while residents decried potential added strain on the town's infrastructure.
