Houses across Surbiton were plunged into darkness last night after a ‘boom’ at an electricity substation caused power cuts across the town.
Firefighters attended the substation off Ewell road, which failed at about 6pm.
Most Surbiton homes had power restored by the early hours of this morning but some houses in Ewell Road and Hollyfield Road are reporting they are still without electricity.
