Police seized two vans by the side of the road after a spate of burglaries in Worcester Park.
Officers pulled over 32 vehicles to try and disrupt and deter burglars coming into Sutton during an operation in Central Road, Worcester Park and London Road, North Cheam, on Friday.
In five raids this month burglars smashed conservatory windows and back doors and, in one instance, forced open a front door with a spade.
Two drivers saw their vans seized for having no insurance, and one was given a fixed penalty notice for driving while using a phone.
Inspector Neil Tyre, of the safer neighbourhoods team, said: "We have a number of operations running and we will continue to set up roadside checkpoints to get the message across that criminals are not welcome in this borough."
