A teenager has admitted stabbing another teenager with a kitchen knife outside a Kingston swimming pool.

The attack took place on the grounds of the Kingfisher Leisure Centre at 4pm on Friday, April 10, as children played nearby.

London's Air Ambulance landed in the Fairfield nearby before the victim, 19-year-old Jordan Beard, was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The attacker, a 17-year-old Tolworth teenager who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with wounding with intent.

Other charges against him included threatening a person with a blade in a public space, theft of an electronic tag belonging to Kingston Council contractors Serco and breaching a curfew - but all of these were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

The teenager will be sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on Thursday, December 3.
