Two Frenchmen were attacked following a fight outside Kingston’s TK Maxx shop hours in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police officers spotted a group of men fighting on CCTV just after 2.15am in Clarence Street.

The attack came the night after the French national rugby team lost to New Zealand with a score of 62-13 in the Rugby World Cup quarter finals.    

The two French nationals, aged 24 and 25, who had been staying in Walton and Twickenham, were taken to hospital with cuts and bruises to their face and body.

Three men have been charged with actual bodily harm with intent.

Nathan Peardon, 23, of School Lane from Surbiton and Jay Beer, 21, of David Twigg Close from Kingston have also been charged with affray. Scott Moodie, 28, from Hammersmith is also charged with criminal damage.

All three will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Wednesday, November 4.
