A 22-year-old man from Surbiton has been released on bail following his arrest after an acid attack on a mother-of-six.

He was the third Kingston man to have been arrested after the attack in Southampton on September 18.

He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and assisting an offender. He is released on bail until January 11.

Brothers Billy, 22, and Geoffrey Midmore, 26, of Old Malden, have been charged with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm over the attack and have since appeared in court, while a 33-year-old woman arrested at the same time as them has been bailed until November 20.

She was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Cara Whitlock, 37, suffered serious burns to her face, neck and arms and may lose the sight in her right eye after the assault outside a restaurant last month.

The Midmore brothers were arrested in Gillingham on September 28. They will appear at Southampton Crown Court later this month.

Geoffrey Midmore also faces a charge of causing grievous bodily harm.
