Following last year’s inaugural event, Ignition Dance Festival is back this June, featuring a variety of acts disciplines over three days.

The festival kicks off at the Rose Theatre on Wednesday, June 3, with a showcase of six top choreographers all debuting new and original work.

The line-up was selected by festival organisers Kingston Council and Dance West, from a total of 135 hopefuls.

Kingston Council's arts commissioning manager Kathryn Woodvine said: “The audience will see some amazing talents on the show.

“We are supporting young people offering opportunities locally, and we also want to inspire the next generation.

“We understood there was an audience in Kingston for this type of events.

“There was nothing like this in Kingston and we wanted to develop the cultural programme we were offering.”

After the showcase at the Rose, the Ignition Dance Festival moves into the weekend of June 6 and 7.
