Young women are being told to watch out following reports of a man exposing himself near a Kingston University campus.

Kingston police are investigating reports that a serial flasher is targeting young women in the area.

Several women have claimed they were flashed near Kingston University’s Clayhill halls of residence in Surbiton since mid-December, with three girls said to have been approached by a man last weekend.

Kingston police are encouraging women in the area to be vigilant and avoid walking alone at night, taking shortcuts down alleyways or through wooded areas and wearing headphones that reduce the ability to hear potential trouble.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Moxon of Kingston CID said: "Kingston borough is investigating a small number of offences where a man is alleged to have exposed himself to young women.

“While no one has been physically harmed, we fully appreciate how distressing and frightening these crimes are and we will do all we can to bring the person responsible to justice.”
