Thousands enjoy JLS concert at Epsom Live

Thousands of racegoers and teenage fans poured onto Epsom Downs Racecourse for a live performance by boy band sensation JLS.

About 12,500 fans watched the four boys sing and showcase their dance routines after an evening of racing, with girls setting up camp at the front of the stage for five hours to watch them up close.

The group performed a selection of their chart-topping hits including Beat Again, One Shot and Everybody in Love as well as material from their number one debut album.

Police recorded only one incident during the evening.

A 21-year woman was punched in the face during the concert by another woman trying to get nearer to the front.

The assault happened shortly before 10pm on Thursday, July 22, when 21-year-old was approximately 20 metres away from the centre stage and she was barged from behind by a woman trying to get nearer the front.

An argument took place and the woman punched the 21-year-old in the face.

The attacker is described as Asian, in her early 20s, of slim build, 5ft 6in tall with long dark brown hair. She was wearing a purple maxi dress.

Officers carried out a search for the woman and looked through CCTV from the event but were unable to trace her.

Anyone who recognises her description or who has any information should contact Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222.
