The overall pass rate at Blenheim High School was 99 per cent as nervous students collected their GCSE results this morning.

The percentage of students achieving five or more A*s to Cs including English and maths was 62 per cent, and, excluding maths and English, the figure was 73 per cent.

Blenheim, a science academy, saw 98 per cent of grades at C or above in Science Further Additional with almost one third of these being A* or A grades.

In maths, 20 per cent of students were graded with an A* or A.

16 students were awarded 8 or more A* to A grades including five who received 11 A* and A grade GCSEs – Jordan Hedges, Isabela Drabek, Bebe Cook-Abbott and Stephen Barker.

Tracey Fantham, headteacher, said: “We are over the moon with the achievement of our Year 11 students and their teachers and are extremely proud that so many of our students have gained such excellent results in their GCSE and BTEC qualifications.

“These will give them a fantastic foundation from which to build a promising future and I’d like to say a huge well done to all and wish them every success.”
